Dar Kawa Mosaic by Myriam Balaÿ Devidal

I chose to present this cornucopia of pictures taken at Dar Kawa in the form of a mosaic.
Intuitively, I associate the mosaic with the way the memory operates. Objects and impressions blend together on the same wavelength. Together, they compose a delicious bath. They immerse us in a combination of shapes, aromas, savors, textures, and colors. All reflect the geographic surroundings, of course. But they are also the result of a subtle interplay between present and past, modernism and tradition.
Dar Kawa is an infinitely engaging place. It bears the trace of an ancestral Morocco, graceful and true, making us more alert to ourselves. That is indeed the feeling I carried away from my days in Dar Kawa, and I was eager to express it in the installation “Paper Dream.” I still thank Valérie for my experience there!
