Last December, we inaugurated the Marrakech store’s window space that is reserved for creative interventions, called Twist the Box. The little “showcase” is ideal for sharing creative experiments that incorporate and reimagine the store’s products in unexpected ways. Local photographer Delphine Warin kicked off the transformation with her photographs that turned it into a playful, illusionistic studio capsule.
Upcoming this summer is Dorothée, a milliner based in Brussels who I met during the pandemic. Dorothée works with silk flowers using traditional techniques, all hand-colored using vegetable dyes in her kitchen, aka the laboratory. I am fascinated by her passion and determination, and from the very first visit to her studio I knew that Morocco would be a great playground for her. She’ll be in Marrakech for 10 days and I can’t wait to see he put her own twist on Twist the Box.
In the meantime, the box is taking its own siesta, by evidence of the bed installed there. Golden walls and bucket fez lamps make for a cozy encounter, as if to say there’s no such place as a bad place for an afternoon revelry. Dream on and away we go. Happy summer!
