Among the publications of the Sarabhai Foundation, one book particularly dragged my attention: ‘Indian Costumes’. A book that traces some traditional costumes from the 18th to the 20th century. Accompanied by technical notes, patterns, this book invites you to a deep journey in the heart of the Indian textile traditions of yesterday. Out of date fabrics which have resisted time, which keep all their nobility, which receive in this work deserved attention. For me, immersing myself in these pages is a source of inspiration that awakens my curiosity. I scrutinize the detail that may be part of an upcoming collection, which will blend with other cultures, ideas, and other reinterpretations.

Parmi les publications de la Fondation Sarabhai, un livre a particulièrement attiré mon attention : ‘Indian Costumes’. Un ouvrage qui retrace certains costumes traditionnels du 18e siècle au 20e siècle. Agrémenté de notes techniques, de patrons, ce livre invite à un voyage profond au cœur des traditions textiles indiennes d’autrefois. Tissus surannés qui ont résisté au temps, qui gardent toute leur noblesse, qui reçoivent, dans cet ouvrage, une attention méritée. Pour moi, me plonger dans ces pages est une source d’inspiration qui éveille ma curiosité. Je scrute le détail qui fera peut-être partie intégrante d’une prochaine collection, qui se mariera avec d’autres cultures, d’autres idées, d’autres réinterprétations.
