Valérie Barkowski founded the Mia Zia brand in 1997 and ensured its development until 2007. Over these 10 years, a true community of thoughts has been developed. These ideas and creativity were assembled, among others, in a shop of 300 m2 in Paris, in which surprises filled everyday life again and again. The creation was carried out in India and in Morocco through the Mia Zia workshop with the help of hundreds of “small hands” from the medina in Marrakech, which ensured the delicate sewing and hand embroidery.
Since 2007 Valérie moved on and focused on her own textiles and linen brand V.Barkowski, launched at the end of the nineties. These textiles are sometimes developed with a humorous shift and high-quality craftsmanship, which are the hallmark of the V.Barkowski house.
Valérie Barkowski also manages a beautiful Riad, Dar Kawa, in Marrakech, which has been redesigned according to the ancestral architectural standards of the Medina Marrakech.
Valérie Barkowski a fondé la marque Mia Zia en 1997 et assuré sa création jusqu’en 2007. 10 ans durant lesquels une vraie communauté d’esprit s’est développée autour du voyage, des rayures et des couleurs vives. Cette fantaisie se retrouvait, entre autres, dans un magasin de 300 M2 à Paris où des surprises venaient toujours meubler le quotidien. La création était réalisée en Inde et au Maroc dans l’atelier Mia Zia et avec 1000 petites mains de la médina de Marrakech qui assuraient le travail délicat de couture et de broderie.
Depuis 2007, Valérie s’est concentrée sur sa marque, V.Barkowski, initiée à la fin des années 90, spécialisée dans le linge de maison. Ce linge est développé parfois avec un décalage humoristique et une grande qualité artisanale qui sont la marque de la V.Barkowski.
Par ailleurs Valérie Barkowski gère un beau riad, Dar Kawa, à Marrakech retravaillé dans les règles de l’architecture de la médina.
