De grands yeux verts, une bouche rouge parfaitement dessinée, des cils courbés et deux petites oreilles. Tigrées. Tantôt un visage. Tantôt tout un corps allongé… sur un paquet de cigarettes. Les Tigra.

This Belgian company particularly famous in the 50s-60s, has now fallen into oblivion, with the exception of its packaging. The design is attractive, powerful, responsive, inspired.
Cette marque belge, particulièrement célèbre dans les années 50-60, est aujourd’hui tombée dans l’oubli, à l’exception de son emballage. Le design est séduisant, percutant,adapté, inspiré.

On the package, the colours match … the background is sometimes green, sometimes beige. And the redesigned Tigra iconic figure has everything from a pin-up from the 50s. The young woman gained notoriety after posing. She comes from Latvia but lives in Antwerp. A tiger woman that will make the titles of the newspapers a few years later after being murdered.
Sur le paquet, les couleurs se répondent… le fond est parfois vert, parfois beige. Et la photo re-dessinée de l’icône Tigra a tout de la pin-up des années 50. La jeune femme a gagné en notoriété après avoir posé. Elle vient de Lettonie mais habite Anvers. Une femme-tigre qui fera les titres des faits-divers quelques années plus tard après avoir été assassinée.

The packaging remains. Present in my mind. This packaging always inspired me. This look has always attracted me. The grooves have always amused me. The packaging is signed, strong. Successful. And even timeless.
L’emballage reste dans les esprits. Dans mon esprit. Ce packaging m’a toujours inspirée. Ce regard m’a toujours attiré. Les rayures m’ont toujours amusée. Le packaging est griffé. Réussi. Et même intemporel.
